Maltesers Waffles

This choc-malt flavored, waffle structured masterpiece, will get your taste buds doing the runningman!


2 cups plain flour

2 tsp baking powder

3/4 cup caster sugar

2 separated eggs

1 1/2 cups milk

1/2 cup melted butter

5 tbsp malt powder

1 1/2 tbsp cocoa

100g crushed chocolate malt biscuits*

vanilla ice cream to serve

1 packet of Maltesers


1Combine the flour, baking powder, cocoa, caster sugar and malt biscuits in a bowl. Make a well in the center.

2Use an electric mixer to beat the egg whites until it forms stiff peaks.

3Combine the milk, malt powder, egg yolks and butter in a bowl and add this to the dry ingredients. Mix together thoroughly.

4Carefully fold through the egg whites.

5Lightly oil your preheated waffle iron and add the batter. We prefer to use spray oil with a high smoke point such as flavorless coconut oil.

6Meanwhile, grab as much ice cream and as many Maltesers as your heart desires. Crush the Maltesers up and mix it into the ice cream (softer the ice cream the easier this will be) Set aside to serve on top of waffle.

7Once your waffles have finished incubating, serve with your delicious Maltesers ice cream, and Bob's your Uncle!
